Open Nets
As its name implies, this netting is extremely open and intended for areas where minimum windage, and minimum water resistance are a priority. Open Netting is made from cords as are most fishing nets and usually laid out on the diamond (cords running diagonally). All of our open netting is knotless, so that the cord intersections are woven together, eliminating uncomfortable knots. These nets are finished similar to Mesh Nets with a reinforced border, usually with grommets, boltrope, or cable sleeves. Due to their open nature these nets are not as comfortable as the mesh nets, but work well in areas that need the openness like trimaran bow nets and high performance offshore boats. All 4 of these nets are manufactured with our vinyl coating, available in your choice of 12 colors, for improved UV resistance.

| Offshore 3/8" hole Polyester Open Net
|
The Offshore Net is designed for larger cruising multihulls that need a light comfortable net that can shed water quickly. This netting is similar to the Coated Polyester Mesh yet twice as strong with better openness. Made from knitted polyester fibers it will need some stretching to obtain the desired firmness. The nets are uncercut and prestretched to the borders to account for this. Vinyl coated for UV resistance and appearance, this net is the perfect compromise between strength, openness and comfort. |

| Light Duty 3/4" hole Nylon Open Net
|
A good safety net for smaller areas that will not get much traffic. This net has 3/4" holes (hole sizes are measured parallel and perpindicular to the cords which run diagonally across the net) and is made of knitted nylon with our vinyl coating applied. The nylon fibers give this net a stretchy feel but also absorb more of the strain to prevent breakage. |

| Ultra Pro 1-1/2" hole Polyester Open Net

The Ultra Pro is the most open net for use on high performance boats. Made with 2 twisted strands of fibers, instead of knited, the cord is stronger, with less stretch, and no loss of strength in the intersection. The vinyl coating helps bind the strands together to prevent fraying and gives significant UV resistance for a longer life. We can make the Ultra Pro with sewn reinforcded borders or with rope borders |
| Dyneema 1" hole Open Net
|
Dyneema is an incredably strong fiber with the lowest stretch of any of the open nets. This net is 3 times stronger than the Offhsore or the Ultra Pro, with an openness in-between those 2 nets. It is constructed with a 4 strand braid which resists fraying or unravaling if broken and uses the full strength of the fibers(as apposed to knitted or knotted nets). because of this, the finished wieght of the net is less than the Offshore or the Ultra Pro. The Dyneema net is coated with a semi translucent grey polyurethane coating, similar to that used on Dyneema ropes, that fades to a more golden color with exposure. Because of the low coeficent of friction of the Dyneema fibers our vinyl coating does not adhear adequately, so we do not offer it coated in other colors. the Dyneema net can be made with sewn reinfoced borders or rope borders. |
