Webbing Nets
Webbing Nets are woven to the shape of your net opening out of 1" or 2" wide strapping. Because of the strength of the strapping used, Webbing Nets are the strongest of all the nets we manufacture. Webbing Nets made with polyester webbing are 5 to 10 times stronger than any of the mesh or open net materials.
Our Webbing Nets are diagonally woven without a sewn on border. This creates a continuous weave (no visible ends) with a series of webbing loops around the perimeter of the net. This is the strongest possible attachment system as the stress is transferred directly from the webbing to the lacing. Because of the diagonal weave the holes sizes within the webbing nets will vary. This variance is minimal on rectangle shape nets and increases as the shape deviates from a rectangle. The Installation pages have more information on Webbing Net attachment.
| There is a choice of hole, or gap sizes within the nets. The Openness page on the Technical Info section of this site has more information. To compare the different hole sizes, you can open a pdf file showing 4 different gap sizes with a 1" webbing net. Select the color from the list to the right to open the file. When printing the file out be sure that the "fit to page" or "shrink to paper size" option in the print dialog box is Not Selected, so that the page prints to an accurate scale. | 1" White Polyester
|
Polyester is an excellent netting material due to its high strength, low stretch, and dimensional stability. For these nets we use a 1" wide single ply white polyester webbing which has a 5,000 lb breaking strength (5 times stronger than the 1" polypropylene). While the polyester fibers do not have as good a UV resistance as the black polypropylene it has been our experience, due to their greater initial strength, that they will last longer. Because of the greater strength we can make these nets with larger average hole sizes of 2", and 2-1/2" for a high openness, as well as the 1" and 1-1/2" sizes for a moderate openness. We only use polyester webbing in white because any other dyed color of webbing will fade quickly in sunlight. The welded intersections are also stronger on this net compared to the polypropylene, again due to the greater strength of polyester. |

| 1" Vinyl Coated Polyester
|
The 1" polyester webbing nets can be vinyl coated in any of 12 colors. This is a durable, flexible, non-fading coating applied to both sides of the net in several coats. The coating makes the nets look better, stay cleaner, and more UV resistant (the warranty period for this net is 6 years). This is really the finest net for offshore cruising, it is strong, comfortable, open, and durable. If made with an average hole size of 2" the net will have an openness of 50% which is good for any weather conditions encountered on most cruising multihulls |

| 2" 3Ply Black
|
3Ply webbing achieves the ultimate in UV and abrasion resistance by completely protecting the center ply of white polyester webbing. The outer ply's are of black polypropylene which will not fade. This net also maintains its appearance well as most stains and dirt will not show on the black webbing. This is the webbing we have successfully been putting on day charter boats in the Caribbean for many years. It has proven to be extremely durable in the toughest conditions. We make this net with 2", 2-1/2" or 3" average hole sizes for a moderate openness. As on all 2" wide webbing Nets all of the intersections are stitched with Teflon thread. This net has an 8 year warranty period. |

|
Same as the 2" 3Ply Black, only made with 3 ply's of white polyester. Very strong net, 8 year warranty period. |
